People reading this article would find plenty to think about. I wonder if it will be in my daily paper? Tribtalk has had some doofus call in about Charley Reese. The said doofus complains about Charley and how he should be removed from the lineup of opinion pieces published by the Tribune. I can't remember if Charley's been published in the paper, lately, or not.

That's a great piece by Charley. I had not read him before. I don't know why more is not being said and written about our country's decline. It is not going to be a pretty picture when our debt comes due, and the other "superpowers" decide that they don't want to buy our bonds anymore. To have an arrogant fool for president now, at this time in our country's history, is a tragedy.

Ooo, excellent stuff. The bit about OBL saying he would bankrupt us rather than kill us is especially chilling, and was new to me. It sounds like his plan is working to perfection.

Yeah.
Funny thing. Bin laden was trained in Afghanistan by people Reagan & Bush I trained. His family are perennial investors with companies owned and operated by Dubya, his Daddy, and their cronies, like former Secretary of State James Baker.
Osama's stated goal is to push the price of oil up tenfold, from $20/barrel in 2000, to $60/bbl in 2004, to $200, ASAP. A general war throughout the Middle East, with more terrorism elsewhere, would do that.
Think Big Awl's White House subsidiary Bushco would object? Not as long as the Seven Sisters (now 5) control wholesale & retail sale of oil, worldwide.
These people don't have to worry about bankrupting the US, the way Imperial Britain was virtually bankrupted. They moved their assets to the US back then, and they are moving them to China now. They have no country. A nation is a thing they use to control a people. Us, for example. But all they care about is money, and power. It doesn't matter to them where they get it. Nor where they spend it.

It's fine to be patriotic. But if you don't know your own history, and your own best interests, its very easy to be mislead by flag-waving phony's like the entire Bush family.
