Mo foster adoptions down
Adoption of foster children declines in Missouri
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A recent boom in Missouri adoption of foster children appears to be over, with the number of children adopted from the state's foster care system dropping to its lowest level in five years.
I was listening to a story about this on the radio as I drove to work. The announcer said there were 3000 children eligible for adoption in Missouri.
Different reasons for dropping adoption rates, of foster children, are given by different people. One is that there are fewer adoption-eligible children. Another is that the federal regulations had caused a rash of adoptions and now they are back down to normal levels. There is another, my favorite: Due to the budget cuts, subsidy checks that adoptive parents formerly received are being stopped or amounts lessened.
With the above in mind, I'd like to suggest that, until all the adoptable children are adopted (both foster and non-foster), the abortion opponents should shut their pieholes!
