Friday Cat Blogging - Black History Month.

This cat was named after the character, Little Black Sambo, from the old children's books, enjoyed by his ma, and her sister, when they were very young. Apparently, the word, sambo, is considered a racial slur by some countries. The naming of the cat was not meant to be racist or demeaning. The cat got his name because he was male, black, and (to children, all those years ago) the book was very entertaining.

LBS wants to remind readers that February is Black History month. This February 12, is pretty special, in fact; it will be the 100th anniversary of NAACP. I've included a few interesting links I found through google. Black History Month from Infoplease, Wikipedia's Black History Month, and's Black History.

Happy Friday! As always, check out the wonderful animal pictures linked for Friday Ark at The Modulator.
