Where is Oldwhitelady?

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything, since June.  I was getting ready to move to the country.  It sure took a lot of time and effort...and money.

My mobile home was moved, set up and tied down.  Now, I have to put the skirting back on.  So far, we've put almost all of the section that attaches to the trailer, that holds the skirting, back on.  Boy, was that a chore!  It was like a puzzle, finding all the screw holes that fit each piece.  Now, there's another piece that nails into the ground, that has to be placed, before skirting can be fitted.  Since the trailer is not at the same depth as before, we will have to cut skirting, and buy more.  Whew!  So far, I had the land cleared, a lagoon dug, the piers dug and poured, the mobile home moved, electric turned on, and Internet set up.

I still don't have water.  I've checked with the water company, and it will cost a huge sum.  They marked it out a couple weeks ago, but I've heard nothing, since.  My cousin called me yesterday, and suggested a well.  I really don't want to go that route, because I think the water might be polluted, knowing the background of the acreage to the side of me.  I'm getting ready to call the water company, again, and find out if they can do it, and if so, when.

The ground is all bare and muddy.  We've laid down some grass seed and a small amount of hay.  Hope it grows.  I also hope to be online, more, now that so much has been accomplished.

I hope it was cheaper for you than it is down here - over $8,000 for the hook-ups when someone moves to a new lot in the country. You begin to suspect they are trying discourage people from living in mobile homes.

It is nice to have some space. They really crowd people in most parks.

Thank you, Bryan. Actually, since I moved it to an undeveloped spot, it has been more than $8,000 so far. I'm not going to get on the waterline because they've increased the cost estimate to $18,500. I'm now exploring the possibility of well water.

Sure hope the water problem has been solved, and that the new place works out well for you and the kitty cats.

Thank you, Robin Andrea. Things are working out. I had a well dug. It isn't as fast as city water, but I don't have a water bill. I have to pay back a large loan, but that will be better in the long run. :)

Don't plant grass... Unless you have a horse or cow!
Plant flowers and veggies!
Or a nice shade tree or three!

I have some well pictures...

So...
Post some pics of the trailer in it's new location!

Too bad that you didn't look into bringing a house... I have a house that I paid a dollar for... Of course... bringing it in... ran into some $$$... But it's a house!

Hi Gardens-In-The-Sand. I have to plant some grass just to get the mud covered so I can walk. I planted all my flowers from the trailer court, and hope they come up this spring. Yes, I will be planting more + veggies. I plan to take some pictures of the trailer and post them soon. You're right. It would have been pretty cool to bring a house. That's great you got sucha deal!

BTW, GITS, - Those are some great well pictures. I didn't get any of the crew, because I had to work. I did take a picture or two of the trucks, though. They had to stay overnight.
