Friday Cat Blogging - Goodbye Mango

April 15, 2013, I got up to give Mango his shot and his Fancy Feast.  He didn't come when I called.  When I found him, he couldn't get up.  I brought him into the kitchen, gave him his shot and his food.  He gobbled up his food.  I called the vet office, but the vet wouldn't be in until evening (turns out it was opening day for turkey season).  I set an appointment for the evening.

When I got home, I fed Mango some more Fancy Feast, then held him for a couple hours.  When it was time, I put him in a cat bed, and put him in the car.  We were almost there, when a truck decided to get to a gas station by going through my car - see picture below.  It took the police close to an hour to get there to take a report.  Luckily, Mango seemed to be close to unconscious.  When we got to the vet office, he verified that Mango's kidneys were shot.  Goodbye my sweet boy.  You were such a good kitty.

Mango may be thin, but he still gets around just fine. He really likes to eat, but he has no teeth. I put catfood in a dish, add water, and let it soften. He really enjoys that...not as much as Fancy Feast, but it's nice to have until his next shot.

Firday Cat Blogging - Jack Sprat and his wife

My fattest cat and my skinniest cat, both together. You know, I am sure glad the election is over, but would someone, please, tell these stupid cats they shouldn't be listening to Limbaugh. They figure that now Obama was re-elected, their checks will come rolling in.

Limbaugh is calling Obama Santa Claus. He may be right. At least, we know O is working on trying to get the USA straightened out. When that happens, we can declare Christmas has arrived! It took W eight years to get us in this mess, how come these people think it can be straightened out in four? And as far as all the money rolling out, do they think our soldiers should work for free? How about all those fire arms and artillary? I'm sure we had to pay a pretty penny for them.

I have to admit, I've been enjoying the comments on all the online articles. The people who voted for Romney are not happy! Hahahah. Loving it!! And yeah, it is fun to gloat.

Friday Cat Blogging - Let the sleeping cat sleep,

but take his picture while he's snoozing. Mango is sure getting thin. This picture was taken in March, but he's lost weight since then. He still gets around fine, and he sure loves to eat. He no longer has any teeth, so I figure he might as well enjoy the foods he loves. He gets Fancy Feast and Whiskas. He also gums the hard cat food.

Friday Cat Blogging - Honda and Mango

Ah ha! I caught Mango in the act! He was getting ready to jump on the bike. Yeah, as if:) He doesn't really have a black eye. He has allergies, and when it gets like this, I put bagbalm under his eye. It cleans up nicely.

The bike is one I had in the shed for 19 years. I finally pulled and pushed it out of the shed. The wheels wouldn't turn very well, so I had to push the heavy weight for several yards. When I was finished, I had bruises on my arms and legs. I was so sore the next day, it was hard to get up and go to work.

I picked up a new battery, ordered an air filter and oil filter. I plan to pick up some oil and brake fluid. Once those have been installed, I will know more of what needs to be done. The tires will definitely need to be replaced.

There are actually three cats in this picture. Parker Dmitri, Mango, and Rocky Girl. I think Mango decided Parker Dmitri is his girlfriend, now, since they spend so much time together. Rocky Girl was his girlfriend. I don't know what the status is, now:)

You know how some people collect "Beanie Babies"? Well, I collect BeanBagBabies, as shown in the picture. "How do you get BeanBagBabies?", you ask. Get a bean bag, get some kitties, set the bean bag on the floor, and before you know it, the bean bag gets populated with adorable BeanBagBabies!

Friday Cat Blogging - Sargent Mango Goldstein

We hope you had a nice Thanksgiving Day!
Sargent Mango looks pretty good in this picture. See all the litter granules surrounding his resting mat? Check out his back foot, too. That is the reason I have to sweep all the time. However, he's not the only culprit. Someone likes to shred paper...every day! Since that has to be swept up, I might as well get the litter, too:)

Friday Cat Blogging - Sgt. Mango on his chair

Sometimes, I am amazed that Sgt. Mango has the energy to jump up to a chair, now and again. I don't have a problem with it, in fact, I am pleased to see him feeling so good. If you look closely, you can see the wound on his neck. It is slowly healing.

Friday Cat Blogging - Time for a shot.

When I am ready to give Mango his shot, I yell, "Mango! Mango! It's time for your shot!" All the cats come running. I give him his shot, and some chicken, then I open the Fancy Feast can. Oh, boy! I have cats meowing and twirling around. I give them each a fork of it, and that makes them verrry happy.

Sgt Mango doesn't usually look so rough. At the time of this picture, both of his lower fangs were loose. He was so snaggle-toothed, I kept hoping they would fall out. Later, he lost one. A couple days after that, the other was missing. He looks so much better. I'm sure he feels a lot better, too. They looked so painful.

Friday Cat Blogging - Sgt Mango

I figured it was time to show a picture of the wonderful Sgt Mango Goldstein. He hasn't gotten his picture blogged for some time. He's one funny cat! Since he knows when he gets his shots, he jumps on the bed to wake me, as soon as he hears the alarm. I hit snooze and throw the cat off the bed. The next time the alarm sounds, I hit snooze and throw the cat off the bed. Sooner, more often than later, I get up and give him his shot.

Friday Cat Blogging - Sgt Mango

You are one lucky cat, Sgt Mango.

The last time I bought insulin, it was over $40. for the bottle. Today, I picked up another bottle, and it was about $26. The first time I bought it, it was around $26. or $30., if I recall correctly. I'm not sure what's going on, but it was a little easier on the pocket, this time, so I am happy. They have different needles than the ones I picked up, originally. That was confusing. They don't look the same. The pharmacist asked me, "what gauge?" Huh? Anyway, instead of getting a box, she said I could buy a 10-pack. Since I can't take them back, it's better to buy less as I was unsure.

Hee hee....Mango was sitting there, watching me take pictures of other kitties. He doesn't seem to find too much amusement with it, so I turned to take a picture of him. I got him mid-yawn.
