Float Trip Pictures
Friends and I took a took a float down Perche Creek. It is supposed to connect with the Missouri River. We didn't get that far, though. There were several motor boats out, too. The waves as they slowly passed were fun. If they had gone fast, any of us might have tipped over.

Finally - took the kayak out.
I've been meaning to take the kayak out, all summer long. I had to work a couple weekends, and before that, all sorts of things had to be done. Finally, I took it out on Sunday. It was a great day. There were a couple boats out there, too. Since those people were fishing, I didn't paddle as far as I wanted to. I didn't want to scare the fish, if they were catching anything. I made several laps across the water, and spent some time just floating around. It was marvelous!I was able to do some bird watching, too. I took several pictures, but I couldn't get a really good shot, and as I moved too close, the heron took to wing. The wing shot didn't turn out very well, either. But, all in all, it was as just as fantastic as I thought it would be.

Sunday Offering.
This one was actually just for me. Two years ago, I'd gone on a night kayak trip. It was absolutely wonderful. I didn't take a camera because I was afraid it would get wet. There was one spot that stuck in my head. This was it. We were carefully floating through the water. The limbs and rocks weren't exactly easy to see. We stopped at a small rocky bank. The night was quite warm. I tried to take a mental snapshot. Once home, I started painting it, but never finished. After some recent brushwork, I'm calling it finished. In this picture, I know what I'm looking at, but can you see it? Or does it just look like black and white paint pushed around the canvas?

Church on Sunday.
I ended up having to work the weekend. For the past couple months, I've been thinking about taking the kayak out for a ride, but am usually too tired to pull it off the couch and tie it to the top of the car, once I get back from work. There is a lake that I wanted to visit. I wasn't sure if I knew how to get there, and I certainly didn't want to drive around with the boat on the car if I couldn't find the place. Yesterday, after work, I took off to find the place. It was pretty easy to get to. Friday, they told us we'd be able to leave at noon on Sunday. My plan was to tie the kayak on the car and go to work. After work, I could head on out to the lake. Yesterday, we found out that we would not get to leave at noon. We would have to be there until 2:00, at least. I left the kayak home. At 2:30pm, I headed back home to take a nap. The kayak kept making noises that it wanted to go out to the lake. Fine! I threw it on the car and headed out. It was beautiful!
